From the bustling streets, I made my way to the heart of Asakusa, a place known as 'Ichibanchi' (literally 'First Street, First Block'). And while I was there, I decided to visit a nearby establishment, 'Ichigo' (meaning 'Number One'). I had missed out on enjoying the 'Denki Bran' (a local alcoholic drink) earlier, so I was determined to make up for it at this iconic spot. As usual, I purchased my meal tickets at the counter. My choices were: * 'Meidai Menchi Katsu' (Famous Minced Meat Cutlet) - ¥900 * 'Napolitan' (Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce) - ¥900 These are the classic choices, so I went with them. For drinks, I naturally ordered: * 'Nama Beer (Chuu)' (Draft Beer, Medium Size) - ¥1,050 * 'Denki Bran' - ¥400 The beer and 'Denki Bran' arrived first. I was happy to see the size of the beer - it was like a large draft beer you'd get at a regular bar! That meant I had enough beer to act as a chaser for two full servings of 'Denki Bran'. Perfect! I was ready to enjoy myself. The two dishes arrived later. They had that classic, nostalgic taste that took me back in time. Or at least, that's what I thought. As usual, after my second 'Denki Bran', sleepiness hit me... zzzzz I ended up dozing off for about 30 minutes! By the time I woke up, the 'Napolitan' had become a bit soggy, the noodles were a little too soft, and the original flavor was gone. Too bad! But at least I managed to capture a picture of it before I fell asleep. And luckily, I was able to enjoy the 'Menchi' and the 'Denki Bran' before I drifted off. The delicious memories lingered. Ah! No matter when I visit, 'Kamiya Bar' never disappoints! It's truly a special place.

I visited from Shizuoka after a few years. I love the retro exterior and interior. I was torn between choices but ended up with the hamburger and cheese salad. In Shizuoka, when it comes to hamburgers, everyone thinks of "Sawaya", but I prefer a well-kneaded patty served on a plate rather than a coarsely ground patty sizzling on a hot plate. I find this style much better. The accompanying potatoes and carrots (firmly cooked) are also excellent. I washed it all down with a large mug of beer. The old-fashioned style of ordering, where you browse the menu samples in a glass case, decide what you want, purchase a ticket, and then hand it to the staff at your table, is charming. They also only accept cash for payment. I know it might be inconvenient for the restaurant, but I appreciate them sticking to this traditional style from the Showa era. It's wonderful! Definitely coming back again. (Next time I'll try the famous "Denki Bran" too.) October 2, 2024 - Male in his 50s

I've been wanting to visit this bar in Asakusa for years, but I always hesitated because I couldn't see inside and I imagined it to be a typical bar with a counter and a bartender facing you. This time, I finally took the plunge and went in. It turned out to be a bright and spacious place, so all my worries were unfounded. You order your first drink at the entrance with a ticket system, but you can order additional drinks from the staff at your table. The food also looked tempting, so I might come back to try it next time. Their famous Denki-Bran is delicious, but it's quite strong, so be careful! (laughs)

This is a famous establishment known for its 'Denki Bran' (electric brandy). While I didn't find the Denki Bran itself particularly delicious, the beer was quite good. But the real highlight is the food, which is absolutely amazing. They specialize in Western cuisine, and the portions are generous. Everything I tried was delicious.

The "Denki Bran" (electric brandy) with soda was refreshing and easy to drink. The retro Western-style restaurant atmosphere was charming, and the gratin was a simple, old-fashioned flavor that was delicious.
