**Cash Only!** This coffee shop, located right in front of Shinjuku East Exit Station, has a surprisingly calm and sophisticated atmosphere. The entrance is on the B1 floor, so be careful as there are fairly steep stairs to descend. This is a highly recommended spot for coffee lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape. The interior decor and ambiance are meticulously curated, creating a truly delightful experience. The coffee menu offers a variety of options, including a selection for tasting. The presentation is unique. Iced coffee is served in a tea bowl-like vessel, reminiscent of traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Hot coffee is served in a small pot. The pot holds about 1.5 cups, roughly 200 ml. The saucers and cups are from renowned brands, and the sight of hundreds of these sets lined up on the counter is truly impressive. The brand name and a brief description are provided with each serving, adding to the enjoyment. The shortcake, while initially seeming to have an excessive amount of whipped cream, was surprisingly not overly sweet and had a refreshing taste. It paired perfectly with the coffee. The price point and ambiance attract a sophisticated clientele, resulting in a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. For tourists and those with large luggage, it's highly recommended to store your belongings in a locker at the station before visiting. The shop is not very spacious, and large items could be obstructive.
We had tea with 5 people and ordered 2 pieces of cake, which came out to 11,500 yen! The tea was 1,800 yen. When I ordered milk tea, they brought out coffee creamer with the tea, which was a surprise! For this price, they don't give you milk? Seriously?! I didn't feel any special care in the tea leaves, and the coffee was also pretty mediocre. They didn't say what kind of beans they used, but it felt pretty cheap. The cake was even worse, 3 times better at a convenience store. I was so irritated because I had high expectations. The whipped cream tasted cheap, like it was made with frozen stuff from a discount supermarket. It was a rare occasion where I found a cafe that was a complete miss. The atmosphere was dark, with lots of coffee cups and glitter, which made it exciting at first glance, but this level of quality and service for this price is absolutely unacceptable! I would never recommend this place to anyone I know!
Kissa Jikasei Hōjū Kōhī Bon Shinjuku is a coffee shop in Shinjuku 3-chome, Shinjuku-ku, where you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee and cakes. They let you choose from their diverse collection of vintage teacups to serve your coffee. All of their coffees are delicious, especially their freshly roasted ones. The cakes are also homemade and all very tasty. The shop has a calm atmosphere, perfect for enjoying coffee leisurely. Kissa Jikasei Hōjū Kōhī Bon Shinjuku is highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious coffee in Shinjuku. Just be aware that they close in the evening.
This cafe is located right outside the east exit of Shinjuku Station. I finally got to visit after a few missed opportunities due to time constraints and temporary closures. It was a Saturday evening and the place was packed! It's quite small, so it doesn't seem like a place to relax... ◆ Mocha ¥1400 ◆ Milk Coffee ¥1500 ◆ Gateau Chocolat ¥1000 I was surprised by the price of the drinks! Even for a place near the station, it's expensive... And I was also surprised by the popular chiffon cake at ¥1700. I decided to skip the cake and go for the gateau chocolat instead. The gateau chocolat was pretty ordinary. For ¥1000 in Shinjuku, it's reasonable, but there are plenty of other places with better cakes. The drinks were also overpriced for what they were. I was surprised by how weak the milk coffee was. It was basically just milk (lol). I probably won't go back, but I hope this review is helpful.
Right in front of the East Exit of Shinjuku Station, directly below the cat monitor! The location is simply unbeatable. A classic, old-fashioned coffee shop that has been around for over 30 years and is a renowned hundred-year-old establishment. ☕️ Unfortunately, photography inside is not allowed. 😢 The interior is absolutely stunning, so I highly recommend checking it out. They have an impressive collection of over 1,500 beautiful ceramic pieces, all of which are said to be from Arita. This time, I ordered the legendary "Adult's Shortcake." 🍰 It's a limited-edition item, so I was lucky to get it. 🥹 The iced coffee is a whopping ¥1,400 per cup! The cake is also ¥1,700, which is frankly expensive, lol. But it was truly delicious and I was surprised. The refreshing aftertaste of the whipped cream gently envelops the slightly tart strawberries. 🍓 The coffee is clean and free of any bitterness. This is truly a sublime space for chilling... a well-deserved reward for all your hard work. 😌 ▶︎🍽 Menu (Tax Included) • Adult's Shortcake ¥1,700 • Iced Coffee ¥1,400 ————Crowd Information & Customer Demographics———— ▶︎ Arrival Time: 3:00 PM on a weekday 0 people waiting ▶︎ Entry Time: 3:00 PM ▶︎ Meal Time: 3:08 PM ▶︎ Female:Male = 5:5 ————Recommended Usage Scenarios———— Alone...◎ With Friends...◎ Banquet...× Business Meetings, Entertainment...× Dates...◎
