The bakery is located in the basement of the Shinjuku Isetan department store. It's tucked away in the back of the other shops, so I never noticed it even though I've been to Isetan many times. The bread is displayed in a showcase, and you have to ask the staff to get it for you. I tried the "Beignet with Lemon Cream" - it was a fluffy, light donut. I also had the "Olive Ciabatta." It had two kinds of olives, black and green. Toasting it lightly made the crust crispy and the inside soft and chewy. It was delicious! It was great on its own, but I also enjoyed it with curry. The simplicity of the bread allowed the olive flavor to shine through, and it was truly delicious.
This bakery is located on the B1 floor of Shinjuku Isetan. It's a bit hard to find, and I actually walked past it the first time. I got the Komatsuna and Walnut Cheese Ciabatta (¥486) and the Salt Butter Roll (¥238). The display case had several kinds of bread, and I was tempted by the sweet ones, but I decided to get some bread for breakfast the next day. The Salt Butter Roll was great, with plenty of butter and just the right amount of salt. The Ciabatta had a strong cheese aroma, and I didn't really taste the komatsuna. Both were delicious, and you could tell the dough was high quality. I'll definitely try the sweet bread next time!
Located on the B1 floor of Shinjuku Isetan ✨ I purchased a Pain de Mie raisin ✨ It uses Mojave raisins. Mojave raisins are a type of Thompson Seedless grape grown in the Mojave Desert of California ✨ They are large, plump raisins with a high sugar content and a firm texture, making this raisin bread incredibly delicious ✨ It's a dense, cube-shaped loaf of bread, and I love toasting it and slathering it with butter ✨ When I went in the evening, many items were sold out. This bakery, which conveys the authentic food culture of Paris, is truly popular ✨ I wanted to try their baguettes too, so I realized I need to go earlier next time ✨
I went there because I wanted to try their croissants. Most of them were sold out, but luckily they still had the croissant I was looking for. I also saw a "An Japone" which looked delicious, so I ordered it! The croissant was dense and satisfying. The "An Japone" had a smooth red bean paste that went perfectly with the butter, it was so good! They also had pain au chocolat and kouign amann, so I'm definitely going back to try those next time. Thanks for the delicious meal!
I recently visited Édiard Bakery, a bakery that has been recognized as one of the top 100 bakeries in Japan, located in the basement of the Shinjuku Isetan department store. The bakery is tucked away in the back of the floor, and I actually walked past it without noticing. Even when I went back, I had trouble finding it. It's a bit of a hidden gem! I took home two items: - Bacon Epi (¥303): This bread had a nice kick of pepper. - Egg Yolk Cream Bread (¥324): This bread was surprisingly heavy. The fluffy dough was filled with a rich and decadent custard cream. I'm definitely going to visit again to try some of the other breads. Thank you for the delicious meal!
