A cafe in Shinjuku Sanchome. It's located a 2-3 minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station, on the B1 floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store. Today, I did some shopping in the Isetan basement. As I was about to leave, I noticed that Jean-Paul Hévin, which usually has a line, was empty. I was just looking for a place to take a break, so I decided to stop by. I went there around 2:30 PM on Sunday, and it was about half full. I had the following: ✔︎ Dome Chocolat Framboise Set (¥1980) As the name suggests, it's a dessert with raspberries and chocolate. In the center is a raspberry mousse, covered with a dome of Peruvian cocoa cream, topped with raspberry confiture. The Christmas-like visuals are beautiful ✨ The cocoa cream is incredibly smooth on the palate. The drink in the set was Chocolat Choパリジャン, a hot chocolate drink. It's ¥1265 a la carte, so the set is a good deal. It's a slightly sweet drink that goes well with the dessert. The price is higher than a regular cafe, but you can enjoy creative and high-quality cakes in a calm atmosphere. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal(^^)!
The cake with its rich chocolate flavor is absolutely divine. I especially love the raspberry cake. It's also great that they provide sturdy paper bags for free.
One of the cafes that always has a line at Isetan. I was able to get in on a weekday evening because it was unusually empty. I've been to the Jean-Paul cafe in Midtown a few times, but this was my first time at the Isetan store. Their chocolate is truly delicious and my favorite! I always buy it for Valentine's Day. Usually, I buy a dark and milk chocolate bar for around 200 yen and enjoy it at home with tea. Their macarons are also large and delicious, and their marrons glacés, though expensive, are incredibly tasty. Today, the glass dessert that comes with the cafe set was sold out, so I got a set with seasonal chocolate and three other items. It included a dark (blue) and milk (red) chocolate inspired by the French flag 🇫🇷, and a yuzu part de fruit. This was my first time trying it, so I'll introduce it here. Fraise Yuzu Fresh fruit flavors are captured in this part de fruit. A combination of strawberry and yuzu, mandarin orange, and lime juice. I had hot coffee with it. You can also choose macarons or chocolate from the neighboring store and enjoy them with your drink. The coffee here is made to go well with the chocolate, and it's truly delicious. The chocolate ice cream drink I had at the Midtown store was also really good. The store is small with only three two-seater tables, one four-seater table, and a counter, but the staff are polite and kind, so I recommend it. Be sure to stop by for a break during your Isetan shopping.
This shop offers a wide variety of macarons and chocolates. I've been to the Mitsukoshi store several times, but this was my first visit to this location. You can customize your macarons with your favorite flavors, and the staff will pack them for you. All of them have a rich chocolate flavor. The pistachio and raspberry flavors are particularly delicious.
I'd always been curious about this place because of the line, but I was lucky enough to get in without waiting. I ordered the chocolate cake and iced coffee. The cake menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code. It was a lovely space and I enjoyed delicious sweets. I'll have to try the chocolate drink next time! (^^)
