The shop's most popular "balloon bread" was delicious. The dough was chewy and had a great texture, and I could taste the flavor of the flour. It was delicious even without anything on it. The "Chocolat France" was also quite good. It had plenty of chocolate inside, but it wasn't too sweet. Warming it up a bit brought out the delightful popping sensation of the pearls and the melting chocolate. The bamboo shoot and beef tomato stew was a bolognese with a nice textural accent from the bamboo shoots. Overall, there were a lot of sweet menu items, so I would like to see more savory options. I would definitely buy a sandwich if they sold them. One of the people who served me at the register was very nice. The other person I asked about a product was wearing a mask, so it was unfortunate that I couldn't understand what they were saying.
A popular bakery inside Keio Department Store. It's from the same company as 365 Days, so I knew it would be delicious before even trying it! ◎ ◆ Rustic An Butter ¥346 ∟Slightly hard but chewy bread with plenty of sweet bean paste and butter. Delicious! Applause to whoever came up with this! ww ◆ Chocolate French ¥346 ∟This was what I was aiming for. Pearl chocolate neatly arranged on French bread! The crunchy texture is irresistible when you eat it... It was incredibly delicious. I could eat it every day! ~ ◆ Salt Bread ¥249 ∟It wasn't on my list, but when I saw this unusual shaped salt bread, I couldn't resist buying it! The balance of saltiness and butter is perfect. ◎ Everything was delicious and I was very satisfied! There were so many other delicious-looking breads, I wanted to buy them all (lol). I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.
I visited around 7:30 PM on a weekday, and some items were already sold out... including the balloon bread. The staff said that the cooler weather has been contributing to increased sales. I'm not familiar with Keio Department Store, so I almost got lost, but it's on a floor like the basement. Here are my thoughts on the items I bought: * Honey Toast: The texture was just right, with a nice chewiness. The honey aroma was incredible. It had a crispy exterior, but the inside was soft and soaked with flavor. * 12-Minute Curry Bread: It was a good, standard curry bread. There was a lot of air inside. * Apple Crumble: It had lots of apples, and the balance of sweetness and tartness was perfect. The soft dough contrasted nicely with the crunchy apples, making the apple flavor even more pronounced. * Peshmel Cheese: I'm not very eloquent, but it was like a flattened croissant with tons of cheese inside. In other words, it was incredibly delicious. Since some items were sold out by this time, I'd like to try again earlier next time.
Hello! I'm Harapecchan, always hungry! ————Store Details———————————— Store Name: Juunibun Bakery Nearest Station: 1-minute walk from Shinjuku Station Address: 〒160-0023 1-1-4 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Keio Department Store Shinjuku Branch B1F Business Hours: 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM Closed: None Budget: ~¥1000 ———————————————————— This time, I went to 'Juunibun Bakery,' a bakery specialty store that has been attracting attention since before its opening as the first department store entry of Ultra Kitchen Co., Ltd., which operates the popular bakery '365 Days' in Yoyogi-Hachiman, just a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku Station! The concept of 'Juunibun Bakery' is 'rediscovery.' The interior, which expresses the world view, uses William Morris wallpaper and genuine antique furniture purchased from overseas, creating a classic and stylish atmosphere. Even among the many stores lined up in the sales floor, it had a distinct otherworldly feel. 'Juunibun Bakery' makes bread that is very popular, offering bread that has been familiar in Japan for a long time with a new deliciousness. At 'Juunibun Bakery,' they are particular about making everything in the kitchen, from the entire bread-making process to even the side dishes, using some ingredients from their sister cafe '15℃.' Their unwavering commitment to quality is truly admirable. こだわりの素材 The bread at 'Juunibun Bakery' is made with a focus on domestic wheat and ingredients. They use no preservatives or artificial coloring, and everything is handmade, from the ingredients. They use plenty of vegetables and fruits from contracted farmers. The theme of 'Juunibun Bakery' is 'aging.' They aim to reinterpret and recreate the texture and melt-in-your-mouth quality of traditional Japanese bread made using old-fashioned methods. The key to 'aging' is the yudane (wheat flour kneaded with hot water) and levain (natural yeast). Yudane brings a chewy texture and sweetness to the bread, while the rich aroma and acidity of the levain enhance the sweetness of the wheat. By changing the proportions of these two types of dough, 'Juunibun Bakery' creates bread with unique flavors and textures. The bread made with a special water content has a texture that goes beyond chewy, so I highly recommend you experience it for yourself. Menu I ordered this time 【Balloon Bread】 This is the bakery's recommended item. It comes in a stylish balloon-shaped wrapping paper, making it visually appealing. The packaging was impressive. When you open the wrapping paper, you'll find a mushroom-shaped bread inside. The dough is chewy and springy, and it has a strange, almost juicy texture, despite being bread. It has a salty flavor because it's kneaded with salted butter in granules, which was delicious. 【Croque Monsieur】 This croque monsieur was incredibly delicious, with plenty of homemade ham, béchamel sauce, and cheese, making it satisfying even with just one slice. Be sure to stop by and enjoy the chewy texture of their bakery! Harapecchan is full again this time! Thank you for the meal.
This bakery offers high-quality, elegant, and delicious bread. Their signature "Balloon Bread" is characterized by its chewy texture, which becomes even chewier when warmed. It has a unique personality with a balance of butter, saltiness, and sweetness. I recommend enjoying it plain to savor the flavors of the flour and butter. The "An Butter French" has a perfect balance of sweet red bean paste and the bread's flavor, without the red bean paste being overly sweet. I don't usually eat "An Butter" but I love this one. Overall, the bread is elegant and has a gentle flavor, which I think is a good fit for the clientele of the department store it's located in. It's conveniently located right next to Shinjuku Station, making it easily accessible. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.
