Shinjuku Drinking: A Review of a Long-Time Favorite This restaurant was a regular spot for me about 10 years ago. I hadn't been able to visit for a while due to the pandemic, but recently a friend expressed interest in trying it out, so I made a reservation for the course. We opted for the "Takumi" all-you-can-drink plan (2.5 hours) for 5,800 yen. The menu included: * **Seasonal Vegetables:** Caesar Salad with Duck Breast Carpaccio * **Appetizer:** Homemade Spicy Chili Oil Tofu * **Sashimi:** "Meat of the Field" - Grilled Kyoto Thin Fried Tofu with Ponzu Sauce * **Skewer 1:** Yakitori Skewer - Tsukune (Chicken Meatballs) * **Skewer 2:** Yakitori Skewer - Liver * **Skewer 3:** Premium Pork Belly Skewer * **Skewer 4:** Seasonal Vegetable Skewer - Part 1 * **Skewer 5:** Seasonal Vegetable Skewer - Part 2 * **Palate Cleanser:** Ripe Tomato with Dashi Broth * **Warm Dish:** Roast Beef with Yuzu Pepper and Scallion Salt * **Main Course:** Beef Fillet Steak * **Rice:** Charcoal-Grilled Rice Balls with Burnt Soy Sauce * **Dessert:** Yuzu Sorbet With 13 dishes, the course was quite filling. While individual portions weren't huge, it was perfect for those who wanted to try a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious, but the fillet steak was particularly tender and flavorful. The grilled rice balls had the perfect balance of char and soy sauce. And of course, the yakitori was excellent. The all-you-can-drink selection was more than adequate. The restaurant has a counter on the first floor and, if I recall correctly, a counter and tatami seating on the second floor. We sat at the counter on the first floor this time. The lighting inside is quite dim, making it a good choice for a date. In fact, the place was packed with couples. We made a reservation for 6 PM and it was almost fully booked.

I finally got to visit this place I'd been wanting to try for a while. Everything I ordered, from the yakitori to the drinks, was delicious! The stairs were a bit steep and a little scary, but the interior atmosphere, spacious tables, and comfy sofas were very welcoming. Ordering on a touch screen was a lifesaver for someone like me who's shy... They had a great selection of drinks, so I'll definitely be back. Personally, I loved the seafood pancake and the karaage!

A long-awaited reunion with friends. The atmosphere was great, but the staff's hospitality was quite lacking. Perhaps they were inexperienced, but it was a level of service that wouldn't work for anything other than a casual gathering. We had the all-you-can-drink course, but considering the price, the food, the ambiance, and the staff's level, the value for money was poor.

I dined here with a classmate. The atmosphere was calm and the food was delicious. Thank you.
