I visited 'Little Koiwai' located on the B2F of the Otemachi Building. Is 'Rome-spa' a category? It's the style where they stir-fry pre-boiled thick noodles. Even though it was close to 1:00 PM during lunchtime, there was a line of about 10 people. It's a popular place, but the turnover is fast, so I was able to get in relatively quickly. It's rare these days, but they were taking strict social distancing measures, and out of the 14 seats, only 7 were actually in use (surprising!). I ordered the 'Tarako' (Cod Roe) pasta. I was also tempted by the 'Napolitan,' but I was wearing a white T-shirt, so I avoided it, haha. They take orders while you're waiting in line, so the service is incredibly fast. The cod roe was generously packed in, and it was piping hot! It's a different kind of pasta than what you'd find at an Italian restaurant, but it's delicious in its own way. However, it was a bit oily, and it might be a bit heavy for a middle-aged stomach. A regular customer said, 'Less oil,' and now I understand why. Next time, I'll order the 'Napolitan' with 'less oil'.

A renowned pasta restaurant in Otemachi that is a must-visit. Around 1:30 PM on a weekday, as I was about to join the line, a gentleman, walking with a cane, politely acknowledged me and quickly stepped aside. I was surprised to find such a gentleman in Otemachi! As I looked up, I saw a man in a chef's uniform entering the kitchen of Little Koiwai. I was convinced that the food this chef makes must be delicious. The restaurant was almost entirely filled with male customers. They were all silent, but their faces were filled with satisfaction as they devoured their pasta. I ordered the coleslaw on the side and the Japonaise with less oil. It was delicious! It truly lives up to its reputation as the originator of Japanese-style spaghetti. The cod roe pasta that the person next to me ordered looked delicious too. I can't wait to try the Napolitan next time. I'm definitely coming back!

Little Koiwai, a spaghetti restaurant that has been loved by Marunouchi salarymen for years. I always saw a line of at least 10 people during lunch hours, so I gave up. But this time, I went for dinner and there was only one person in line, so I decided to go in. The restaurant is quite small, but the turnover is fast, so you don't have to wait too long. Looking around, it seems the most popular dish here is the Japone (pork and onion spaghetti with garlic soy sauce), but I was drawn to the keema curry and ordered the keema curry spaghetti. Hmm, this pasta is delicious! The thick, soft noodles are cooked al dente and coated in a flavorful curry. It's so simple and delicious. It's not flashy, but that's what makes it good. That's how I felt about this spaghetti. Next time, I want to order "Japone, large portion, less oil" like the regulars. ▽--------------------------▽ ○Restaurant Name: Little Koiwai ○Tabelog Rating: 3.49 (as of August 27, 2024) ○1-minute walk from Otemachi Station ○Budget: ¥1,000 per person ○Address: Otemachi Building B2F, 1-6-1 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo ○Business Hours: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM ※Closed: Weekends and holidays ※Cash only △--------------------------△ 【Reservation Availability】 Reservations not available 【Recommended Usage】 Solo dining 【Crowdedness】 Tuesday, 7:00 PM: Restaurant was full. I had a large serving of mentaiko (pollock roe) today. It was my first time ordering a large portion, but it didn't seem much different in quantity from the regular size. They let you adjust the amount of fat, but I think the fat here adds a delicious flavor. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The food court on the second basement floor of the Otemachi Building. It's located near the Marunouchi Line station entrance in the underground passageway, next to Ginza Ran-on. The restaurant has a refrigerated display case in front. It's popular with salarymen. The four-person tables can seat a total of eight people, with two people sitting on each side. We waited in line but were seated quickly. There were also many takeout customers. When you line up in front of the store, someone will come to take your order. The menu includes: 670 yen for Napolitan, Arrabbiata, Salt Vegetable, Japonese, Italian; 720 yen for Tarako, Soy Sauce Basil, Mushroom Butter, Keema Curry; 100 yen for a large portion, 100 yen for a separate serving. I ordered a large portion of Napolitan with a separate serving of cabbage. The noodles were more like thick, round udon than spaghetti. They were soft and lacked firmness. The sauce was gentle and very smooth. I've never had such a mild Napolitan. The Parmesan cheese was also good quality. It wasn't clumpy. Tabasco also went well with it. This is Japanese Napolitan. The ingredients were the standard bacon, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms. The tomato flavor didn't stand out. 3.7
