A Self-Serve Beer Bar in Shinjuku: Perfect for a Second Round! Located in the basement, just a short walk from Shinjuku Station, this dimly lit beer bar has a vibe reminiscent of an overseas bar. Despite its spacious interior, it was bustling with activity. A beer-loving friend took me there for a second round of drinks. **What I Ordered:** * Tarot Noir (¥1,650) * Salitos (¥1,350) You grab your bottle of beer from the refrigerator yourself and take it to the counter. The wall lined with an impressive array of beers was overwhelming! I had a hard time choosing. Tarot Noir is a vibrant Belgian beer infused with berries. It has a slightly heavier finish and an 8% alcohol content, making it a satisfying drink. Salitos is a refreshing German beer cocktail with a lime flavor. Its crisp taste has a subtle bitterness, and at 5.9%, it goes down smoothly. These kinds of places are so much fun! It was a wonderful time, filled with laughter and good company with a dear friend. I'll definitely be back! ✨
Located just a 3-minute walk from the south exit of JR Shinjuku Station, "Frigo" is a beer specialty store that will delight any beer enthusiast. They offer over 160 varieties of Belgian beers, along with German and Estonian brews. I made a reservation for a weekday evening and ordered the following dishes to accompany my beer: * Duck and Pork Terrine * Sausage Platter * Currywurst * Fish and Chips * Pickles I trusted the staff's recommendations for the beer, letting them know my preferences, and it was a perfect choice! My first beer was a Belgian brew with a fruity flavor, and the rest were equally delicious and complemented the food perfectly. Each beer had its own unique character. The food, needless to say, was all incredibly tasty and ideal for pairing with beer. Personally, I found the four-variety sausage platter and the currywurst to be absolutely divine. The atmosphere inside the store is also very relaxing. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a wide selection of beers in Shinjuku South, I highly recommend Frigo!
Wow, the selection of beers is amazing! 🍻🍻🍻 They have a great variety of beers from Belgium, Germany, Estonia, and more, all of which are very tempting. The prices are a bit high, so it's not the kind of place to go for a casual, quick drink. However, many of the beers have a high alcohol content and strong flavors, so if you take your time and enjoy them, it's not a bad value for a bar experience. The atmosphere is also very relaxed, making it a great spot for solo drinking. I'm glad I finally found this place! I've walked past it on this street at least 2,000 times and never noticed it before.
The joy of being able to drink beer that I normally wouldn't, and the delicious food. It gives the impression of a Belgian beer bar, but it's a valuable place where you can drink rare European beers. You can choose your favorite beer from the refrigerator and drink it, which makes it a fun event. I had a few basic beers and then, as an event, I had an Estonian stout beer (¥3,300). It had a strong aroma like whiskey, surpassing wine, and was very delicious. It was a surprise, I thought, "Is this really beer?" The food is also uncompromising and delicious, making it a wonderful place to enjoy good beer.
A great place for draft beer. The Guinness has a fine, creamy head and is incredibly delicious. The tapas, like the ajillo and beef stew, are consistently good. But the real standout is the Belgian waffle. It will change your whole perception of waffles.
