I stumbled upon this bakery on my way back from visiting a cafe in Minami-Daita, Shibuya. It had great reviews and a wide selection of hard-style breads, so I decided to walk over there on the last day of the September long weekend. I arrived just after 9 am and there were only two other customers. I bought a carrot slaw ham and cheese sandwich (on a baguette) and a fig fruit bread. The sauce on the baguette sandwich was delicious. The carrot slaw, cheese, and ham were well-balanced, and the baguette was nice and firm. The fig fruit bread had a slight salty taste, which was unique. The store's bags are transparent and very stylish. I always enjoy looking at the packaging and bags of bakeries because they reflect the store's character, and this one's design and sense of style are top-notch. It shows the store's confidence in its products. I later found the fruit bread and ended up canceling my previous order for the raisin bread. I apologize for the inconvenience to the staff. 🙇♀️ When I looked at the receipt, I saw that the items I bought could be eaten inside WHITEGLASSCOFFEE, so I'll buy the raisin bread next time and enjoy it at the cafe.
This bakery is characterized by its stylish atmosphere and delicious bread. The interior features a modern and stylish design, making you feel special just by visiting. The bread selection is also extensive, ranging from classic croissants and baguettes to seasonal, creative breads. Each loaf is carefully crafted, with exquisite texture and flavor. In particular, the fruit-filled Danish pastries and the fragrant walnut bread are exceptional. Starting your weekend morning with bread from this bakery is sure to be a special experience. It's a place worth visiting.
📍GREEN THUMB / Shibuya ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ I was looking for a place to have breakfast and stumbled upon this bakery tucked away in a quiet alley, just a short distance from the bustling Shibuya district. While you can't eat inside the bakery, there's a sister cafe called WHITE GLASS COFFEE, just a minute's walk away, where you can enjoy your bread. And if you show your receipt from GREEN THUMB, you get a discount at the cafe! Their coffee is only ¥350 and latte is ¥400, which is incredibly affordable. It can get quite busy, but there's a 90-minute time limit for each table, so you shouldn't have to wait too long. I recommend securing a table at WHITE GLASS COFFEE first and then heading over to GREEN THUMB to buy your bread. ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ⋱⋰ ◽️Order ▼Anko Butter ¥346 I was drawn to the popular No. 1 choice. The bread was chewier than I expected, and it was filled with a generous amount of sweet bean paste and butter. It wasn't overly sweet and was absolutely delicious. ▼Croissant Crispy and consistently delicious. ▼Salt Bread ¥238 Popular No. 3 Filled with plenty of olive oil. ▼Curry Bread ¥324 A perfectly round curry bread. I also have my eye on their bagels and canelé. This is definitely a place I'll be returning to! ◽️Access 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station West Exit ◽️Time 8:00-19:00
I find myself stopping by every time I come to Shibuya! I've only tried the salt bread so far, but the display in the store is clean and fun, and they have simple bread for meals, savory bread, and even Danish pastries. I feel like I want to try everything! The salt bread was delicious, truly the epitome of salt bread. Perfect for a hot day! They also have a sister store nearby where you can bring your own food. They also offer a drink discount with your receipt, so I'd like to visit next time.
The exterior and interior of this bakery remind me of a European bakery I encountered on my travels. But they also offer familiar Japanese treats like an-butter sandwiches and curry bread. It's the perfect place to visit on a weekend morning. It's located in a back alley, close to Sakura Stage and the Cerulean Tower. If you're just making a quick stop, you can pull up in your car, but be careful as the Hachiko bus also runs in front of the store.
