Established in 1963, Acacia's atmosphere, dating back to 1963, is exceptional even among long-standing establishments. The seating is spread across two floors, with the first floor divided into two distinct areas, each with its own unique charm that makes you want to snap a photo. Despite its history, it's not stuffy and has an approachable feel, making it easy to drop in while passing by. It's a famous Western-style restaurant known for its roll cabbage stew, located behind Shinjuku Alta. A quintessential Shinjuku restaurant that you can't miss when exploring the area's Western food scene. The menu offers delicious options beyond the roll cabbage stew, and the prices are reasonable for a Western-style restaurant. The classic Western dishes like Hayashi rice and omurice are always a hit. I definitely want to bring my parents, friends, and colleagues who haven't been here before.

I finally decided to try the famous roll cabbage stew place that always has a line! There were 10 groups ahead of me, but the restaurant was spacious so I was able to get in after about 15 minutes. I spent a long time looking at the menu and reading Google reviews, and finally decided on the roll cabbage and the pork oil-grilled dish. The signature roll cabbage was so tender and delicious, and the pork oil-grilled dish was incredibly soft and flavorful, almost like a ginger pork dish. I highly recommend trying it! The onsen egg topping is also a must-try. Both the roll cabbage and the pork dish were quite large, so I ordered a small portion of rice and it was just right. I can't wait to go back and try something else!

After what feels like an eternity, maybe even decades, I finally returned! I entered the restaurant on a weekday at around 5:30 PM. I was seated in the back of the first floor. I ordered the omelet set, the pork loin set, and two different kinds of croquettes as a side. First, I enjoyed a dark beer. The set's roll cabbage stew, rice, and salad arrived quickly. The stew was flavorful and delicious! The roll cabbage was also well-prepared. The main dishes arrived a little later. The omelet was beautifully presented and the egg flavor was rich and delicious. The pork loin was oil-grilled and equally tasty. The croquettes were also very good. There was a generous amount of shredded cabbage, which I love, so it was delicious. I also had a Jack Daniel's highball. My stomach was full! I probably didn't stay for more than 40 minutes. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It must have been years since my last visit to Acacia. Lately, my lunch breaks have been consumed by steakhouse hopping, so it was purely by chance that I found myself drawn to this familiar Western-style restaurant. I happened to be waiting for a movie to start at the nearby Piccadilly, and after some deliberation, I decided to come here. I stopped by casually, but there was a long line of women, some of them foreigners. I was in a bit of a predicament, but then, miraculously, a waiter who remembered me said, "We have a seat for one." The tables at Acacia are stylish, reminiscent of the dining car on the Orient Express, which gives the place a unique atmosphere. Apparently, they added more two-seater tables when they renovated the warehouse. Thank you. Now, Tokyo's three great omelets were once said to be the ones at Hibiya Matsumotoro, Asakusa Yoshikami, and Shinjuku Acacia. Nowadays, half-cooked omelets originating from Taimeiken are more common, but Acacia's classic style remains unchanged. And then there's the roll cabbage stew. I noticed for the first time that it's listed as a "unique dish" on the menu. It has a subtle yogurt flavor. If you pour this stew over the omelet, it's truly a forbidden taste. I realized the chairs are also luxurious. They must be aiming for the feel of a canteen (a diner) on a street corner in Vienna, but they've been adding a lot of luxurious antique furniture. The setting is perfect. I thought this would be the best place for a dinner with close female friends.

A delicious Western-style restaurant! I ordered the curry rice. The curry rice was flavorful with spices. While it's a matter of preference, I thought the roll cabbage was a bit salty, so it might be good as an appetizer with alcohol!
