I dined here on a Friday night for a 3-hour course. It was a relaxing experience. The private room was great, and the staff was very attentive, taking orders promptly. The food was creatively prepared and absolutely delicious. I was completely satisfied.
The restaurant has a beautiful interior and the staff are very friendly. They offer a set menu of Japanese cuisine, with each dish served individually. The all-you-can-drink option is ¥4,800. They have a wide selection of sake, which pairs perfectly with the Japanese food. The food itself is decent, nothing particularly outstanding, but enjoyable. The restaurant is spacious and the tables are well-spaced, making for a very comfortable dining experience.
The appetizer was only a small dish of tofu and a salad, which was disappointing. I would have liked three or four appetizers, but for ¥3,000, I suppose it's understandable. The restaurant is conveniently located near the station, and it was clean and tidy. There were also multiple restrooms, which was convenient.
I had the seasonal set menu for lunch. It was very delicious. The fish, tempura, and chawanmushi were all delicious. There was one thing that was a bit disappointing about the rice. It was a mountain vegetable and bamboo shoot rice, but it seemed like they used canned mountain vegetables and bamboo shoots, so there was almost no mountain vegetable flavor. My friend was happy with the bamboo shoot rice, but I eat bamboo shoots every day at this time of year, so the rice with just thinly sliced bamboo shoots was disappointing. I wanted to eat delicious bamboo shoot rice that was in season. Bamboo shoots only come out in late May, so they must have been using canned ones from a year ago. I also buy fresh bracken fern when I find it in season, so the mountain vegetable rice had no flavor and was disappointing. Overall, it was a good lunch. My friend was happy that the rice was refillable. We couldn't get a private room, so we sat at a table. It was a bit dark. Maybe it was a bad location, but the air conditioning was blasting, and all three of us were cold. The food also cooled down quickly, and even when we had tea, our bodies got cold, so we left the restaurant quickly. The restroom was clean and nice. There were many private rooms, so I would have liked to have eaten in one.
I went with the most expensive plan. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. Each dish was delicious and I felt it was worth the price. However, the waiter was terrible and had a terrible attitude. I understand they were busy, but they brought the food at a pace that made it impossible to fit on the table, but the drinks never came or were forgotten. Even when I politely asked, they just said they were busy and did the job carelessly. It was disappointing. By the way, when I looked at the receipt later, it was 3,000 yen more than the plan I booked. I didn't order anything else, and they contacted me about the bill 20 minutes after the scheduled time, so I wonder if they charged me an extension fee? At least they should have announced it. It might have been just that woman, but overall I felt bad. My business partner who was with me laughed about it, but they should explain that they automatically add an extension fee. If the service was decent, I would want to go back.
