We had a girls' night out in Shinjuku ✨ We went to a bistro on the B1 floor of Beams, where you can enjoy the traditional flavors of the Kintani Hotel. This time, there were 5 of us for the girls' night out, so we were seated in a private room at the back of the restaurant. We made a reservation for the "2-hour All-You-Can-Drink PARTY Plan" for ¥6,000. First, we had the carpaccio. The tuna was a beautiful color, so vibrant and pretty. The beef stew was also rich and the meat was so tender. It went perfectly with the red wine ✨ The pork shoulder was topped with a ginger sauce and served on a hot plate, so it was piping hot and delicious ✨ The curry was incredibly delicious. They said it's a traditional curry that has been passed down for over 100 years. The ingredients were cooked until they melted, and it was so flavorful that I could eat it even though I was full 😊 The white chocolate gateau for dessert was also beautifully plated and rich and delicious 😊 This was a perfect choice for a girls' night out! The atmosphere is stylish and the food is delicious. It's a place that would be great for a date too! I'll definitely be back 😊 Thank you for the meal.

The reviews mentioned a 'black' work environment, and I have to say, they were spot on. (laughs) Bottom line, I wouldn't go back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. First, the number of staff in the dining area was overwhelming. I noticed groups of three or more staff members hanging around several times during my 90-minute visit. It's not often you see restaurant staff just chatting and hanging out like that. (laughs) I mean, I asked for water because I didn't have any, so why were they chatting? And it seemed like there was only one person actually working! Were the rest all new part-time workers? Even that one person seemed stretched thin. The tension was palpable, and I felt my own anxiety rising. The course was close to 5,000 yen, but the salad wasn't fresh, and the thinly sliced Wagyu beef was so thin it was hardly different from what I'd eat at home. On top of that, even though I knew it was a 90-minute time limit, they started the 'get out' calls about 15 minutes before the end. And they kept reminding us every 5 minutes! (laughs) I thought they might be closing for lunch, but they continued with their tea time service. There were no other customers, but I couldn't even have a cup of coffee because they kicked me out right at the 90-minute mark. (laughs) And to top it all off, when I came back from the restroom and was about to sit down, a female staff member bumped into me with quite a bit of force. She looked back briefly, like 'oh...', but didn't apologize and just walked away. What?! Maybe it would be okay for 2,000 yen... but I was definitely fooled by the name. They should just call it 'Beams Canteen'.

I was seated at the counter, but there was no assigned seat. I ordered using the QR code, which is common nowadays. The cold water arrived a while later. The soup and salad were brought to me at the counter, while the main dish was served at my seat. The food was delicious, of course. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also good. The staff service was average.

The entrance to the store on the basement level is a bit hard to find. Since it's named after the Nikko Kanaya Hotel, the interior and atmosphere were very nice. However, the curry I had for lunch wasn't very good value for the price of 1980 yen. The soup that came with the curry was delicious. The curry itself wasn't anything special, just ordinary curry to me. All the staff were young, but they were very attentive.

The atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious. However, it's still Shinjuku! It's not a quiet or relaxed place. The food was good, and the all-you-can-drink option is a nice bonus. They have private rooms, so it might be good for business dinners.
