Discover the Allure of Exquisite Rare Beef Cutlet at "Nishi Sakura Tei," a Hidden Gem of a Western-Style Restaurant in Shinjuku
This Western-style restaurant is located in the Isetan department store's restaurant district in Shinjuku. It's not crowded and the clientele seems to be good, so you can enjoy a quiet and relaxing meal. The photo shows the "Choose Your Plate" option. You can choose two dishes from a variety of Western-style menu items, and it comes with rice/bread and coffee or tea for dessert, all for ¥2,970, which is quite reasonable. The menchi katsu at Nishizakura-tei is especially delicious, so I highly recommend choosing it.

I visited for lunch on a weekday. It was after 1 pm and there was no wait, unlike other restaurants. It's a classic, typical Japanese Western-style restaurant. The beef in the beef stew was especially tender and fell apart. The rich stew was delicious, and I confidently poured it over rice and enjoyed it in a Japanese style. Overall, it wasn't anything special, but it's a place where you can enjoy the essence of Western food, including the atmosphere.
I've been going to this Western-style restaurant since I was a child. It has locations in the Isetan department stores in Shinjuku, Tachikawa, and Kyoto. I always order the ¥2,980 plate where you can choose two items. Personally, I love the hamburger, crab cream croquette, and shrimp fry. The tartar sauce is also excellent. It gets crowded during meal times. The portions are on the smaller side, and the taste isn't particularly better than other places, but it's convenient and always a contender for my lunch options.
