We made a reservation for lunch and enjoyed the meal. The main course had five options to choose from. I selected the ginger pork, while my companion chose the hamburger with demi-glace sauce. We could choose between soup or salad, and bread or rice, and we added a dessert and hot coffee set. The pork had an overly strong ginger flavor. The hamburger was overcooked and tough, but the taste was good. The same salad that was chosen as a side dish for the main course was also included, so I should have opted for soup instead. The potato side dish was delicious. The cheesecake dessert was quite substantial. The atmosphere was nice, but a noisy family with children at the next table was a negative point. Nevertheless, I would like to try other main courses in the future.
A special steak donburi (rice bowl) with a generous serving of Japonaise sauce! I visited "Restaurant Omiya, Shin-Marunouchi Building", located a 4-minute walk from Tokyo Station's Marunouchi Exit. It's on the 5th floor. Needless to say, the Asakusa main branch is often featured on TV. I arrived just before the store opened on a Saturday and there was no wait. I was able to enter as soon as it opened. I ordered the special steak donburi for ¥2,630. The menu outside listed it for ¥2,200, so I ordered that, but it turned out to be the weekday price. It was served in about 10 minutes. The donburi had 7-8 slices of lamp steak on top. It was cooked to a medium-rare doneness, with a slight chewiness and a rich, delicious meat flavor. The steak was generously topped with a Japonaise sauce made from grated onion and apple, which had a tangy sweetness that complemented the steak perfectly. I enjoyed it all the way to the end.
I've been a fan ever since I saw it on TV and had been wanting to go for a long time, but with a young child, it was difficult to make it. Finally, I was able to go during the Obon holidays. Since it's Chef Omiya's restaurant, I had high expectations, but I was disappointed by the low quality of the service. We ordered the set menu and had to choose between soup or salad, and bread or rice (we ordered separately since there were two of us). The salad that came with the main dish was the same as the appetizer salad (the only difference was whether it had carrots). If they had explained that we would be getting the same thing from the start, we would have ordered two soups. My companion and I discussed this. The food itself was delicious, but for some reason, they didn't refill our water at our table. This also felt strange. Other tables were getting their water refilled, but ours was mysteriously ignored. I wonder if the chef doesn't provide any guidance on service. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable, so I hope the level of service improves.
We arrived about 20 minutes after the restaurant opened. We were told it was a one-hour limit due to reservations, but we were able to enter without waiting. We ordered the lunch hamburger set. The soup that came with the set was salty. I thought, 'What?' The hamburger arrived without much wait. It was thinner than I expected, and while the outside was cooked, the inside was rare. ← I don't like that. The salad dressing had a strong vinegar taste, and I choked and coughed. The dressing was also salty. The demi-glace sauce had almost no flavor, and the hamburger, again, was salty and lacked any real flavor. I thought maybe it was just me, but the person I went with had the same impression. I'm sorry, but I can only write a disappointing review about the taste. The restaurant is small but clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I was worried about finishing in an hour, but I was surprised at how much I could eat. It was a new discovery.
This Western-style restaurant is located on the 5th floor of Shinmaru Building, in the restaurant area! I made a reservation beforehand, so I was able to get in right away, but there was a line outside! I ordered the most popular item, the limited-quantity hamburger, with a lunch set that included salad or soup and bread or rice! There were other options too, but this was a pretty luxurious lunch for around 2,000 yen! The hamburger had an old-fashioned, handmade feel! You could really taste the meat, and it was definitely delicious! A lunch set for around 2,500 yen is definitely a luxury... Thanks for the meal!
