Enjoy a cafe time with delicious bread from a famous bakery in Shinjuku! I've been going there since my student days, and I was finally able to spend some time inside the shop again ✨ This time, I bought some seasonal bread! ◎ Japanese Chestnut Campanile (half) The dough is chewy with blackcurrant mixed in, and there are chunks of Japanese chestnuts! ◎ Croissant Apple Pie Version (I don't know the official name >_<)

Located in NEWoMan in Shinjuku, this is a convenient store with a wide variety of offerings. They often have seasonal specials, making it a place you can enjoy visiting regularly. I went in the afternoon, and while some items were sold out, the croissants were being replenished. Here's what I bought: - Croissant - Cream bun - Curry bread - Bacon epi - Pistachio milk French bread (Summer limited) - Feuilleté pineapple coco (Summer limited) I haven't tried everything yet, but here are my thoughts: - Croissant: The crust is crispy, the inside is chewy, and the air pockets are expertly crafted, making it feel fluffy and delicious. - Cream bun: The dough has a sweet wheat aroma, and the granulated sugar is just the right amount. The rich cream is only visible in three spots, but the amount is perfectly balanced. - Curry bread: As you can see, you can fully enjoy the crunchy texture of the breading. There's a lot of corn, and it felt like a corn bread with a curry flavor. The spiciness is mild, perhaps due to the cheese. It might not be the best choice if you're craving a spicy curry bread, but the crunchy texture is unique and unmatched. - Feuilleté pineapple coco (the name might not be accurate): It's a refrigerated item, so they provide a cooling pack. The crunchy, chewy texture is filled with cream and plenty of tart fruit. (My taste buds aren't very refined, so I couldn't tell exactly what it was. It tasted like a mix of peach and pineapple.) The female staff member at the register next to me was naturally speaking fluent English to a foreign customer. It might be common in the service industry, but as a member of the Showa generation, I felt a sense of the Reiwa era. ww

I stopped by Le Pain de Joel Robuchon, a bakery that made the list of the 100 best bakeries, at Shinjuku NEWoMan for takeout. As expected of a top-rated bakery, everything looked so delicious that I had a hard time choosing. They had signs indicating the most popular and second most popular items, so I bought the most popular cream bun, a croissant, and a multigrain baguette. When I got home and ate them, they were indeed delicious. The multigrain baguette was delicious when you chewed it slowly. The croissant was the best I've ever had. It seems you can also buy and eat at the eat-in corner next door. It cost ¥860.

Located in the NEWOMAN commercial building, a 5.6-minute walk from the south exit of JR Shinjuku Station, is a bakery run by a three-star chef. It's also been recognized as one of the '100 Best Bakeries.' There are two shops, a cafe and a bakery, side by side, with entrances on both sides. Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM (Sun & Holidays: 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM) I stopped by on my way to transfer at Shinjuku Station. It was quite late, so most of the bread was sold out. I bought two simple loaves: - Half a loaf of 'Pan de Mie' (Japanese milk bread) - Half a loaf of classic French bread

I always stop by here when I'm in Shinjuku. Their cream bread is the most popular for a reason, and I highly recommend it! I love hard-style bread and buy baguettes, but my favorite is the multigrain baguette. It's a matter of taste, but I think the multigrain flavor is the best at L'Éclair de Génie. 🤔 The milk walnut bread was also delicious 🍞. Maybe it's the type of walnuts they use that makes it so good ✨. The curry bread is also popular, but the corn inside is a bit underwhelming. If you're used to eating fresh, delicious corn, you might be disappointed (・・?. Overall, it's definitely delicious, as expected from a famous bakery 😋.
