It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I was blown away by how delicious everything was. You absolutely must try the stuffed cabbage rolls. The borscht was also delicious. The staff were all truly wonderful, especially Andrew! He went above and beyond to help us choose our drinks. I will definitely be back again.
I've been here about 10 times. If you're looking for Russian, Georgian, and Ukrainian cuisine in Shinjuku, this is the place! The appetizers are a must-try: ① Homemade fresh salmon marinated in thin pancakes ② Russian-style marinated herring on black bread with paprika sauce and ikura (salmon roe) The main dishes are all delicious. The flavors are not too strong. - Shashlik - Shkmeruli - Kievska Kotlety This time, I had the roasted Ezo deer. The sauce wasn't too heavy, and the chestnut puree was a perfect match. Be sure to try the Georgian wine. The staff, interior, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant create a wonderful Russian cultural experience.
I've been to this restaurant, one of my favorites, several times. While I know the names of the Russian and Georgian dishes might be unfamiliar, everything is delicious, so you can't go wrong no matter what you order. Haha! The staff is also very helpful and will let you know if you're ordering something with a similar flavor profile. They have great hospitality. I'll definitely be back.
The course ends with Russian tea, which is perfect. The Russian tea is fantastic! The ambiance of the tea set, with its strawberry pattern for the jam jar and other items, is wonderful. The tea ceremony involves serving three types of jam on a saucer, which you enjoy with the tea in alternating bites. For lunch, you can choose from four courses, A through D. For women, course A is more than enough to enjoy. The Ukrainian, Russian, and other Eastern European-style dishes have a special feel. It was a world I didn't know. It's not easy to travel to those countries. The only downside was that, being during Golden Week, the table arrangement was such that the people at the next table were closer than my companion, so I ended up listening to their conversations more than I wanted to.
The food, service, and atmosphere were all very good. I rated the atmosphere a 3 because it was quite noisy due to a party. While it was understandable, I felt it was a shame. However, considering that the noise was an unusual occurrence, I would definitely like to go back. You can truly enjoy delicious Russian cuisine here, highly recommended.
