I happened to see a feature on three renowned designer sisters on TV, and this restaurant was featured. I made a reservation because of the beautiful view and its proximity to the area. The entrance was a bit hard to find, but the first floor, which was a bit lively with a party going on, was in stark contrast to the calm atmosphere of this Pregare Tokyo. I don't think the first floor is always lively, though. The second floor had a wonderful borrowed view from the window, and we were able to have a relaxed conversation at a table that felt slightly separated, even though it wasn't a private room. The sommelier and the servers were very friendly and helpful. The timing was perfect, and we felt very comfortable. The food was all excellent, both in appearance and taste. The dishes were all beautifully matched with the tableware, and there were many interesting touches, such as a mini soup served in a siphon. We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef, making it a wonderful day.
A Joint Birthday Celebration with My Best Friend!! This year, we held our birthday celebration, a treat for ourselves, for the May and July birthdays. After watching Moulin Rouge at the Imperial Theatre for lunch, we walked for about 7-8 minutes to this restaurant. The restaurant has two floors, but the course menu is likely only available on the second floor. The clientele was mostly couples and married couples, and we were probably the only group of friends there. It was raining, but the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and I was glad I wore my favorite dress. The food featured many ingredients from the chef's hometown of Fukuoka, making it a wonderful course that felt like a summer journey. The dishes were cute, beautiful, and visually interesting, like the broth simmered in a siphon coffee maker. The hospitality was also excellent. My best friend and I were grateful to have each other and to be able to go to such a luxurious restaurant every year. We said to each other, "Let's live long lives!" The manager overheard us and said, "Please live long lives! You're still young." It was funny. It was a wonderful time, and I was very satisfied. I'm sure we'll be back for another visit.
My top 3 recommended restaurants in Tokyo for special occasions!!! I love their concept of celebrating the four seasons of Japan. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. 😍 For the quality and taste, the price is very reasonable, especially considering it's a French restaurant in Otemachi, Tokyo!!! I also love that they offer 5-course (weekday lunch only), 8-course, and 10-course menus. I'm not a big eater, so the 8-course menu was perfect for me this time. The dinner atmosphere is great, but it's also nice to enjoy the beautiful scenery during lunch. There are only 6 tables, all of which are semi-private rooms, so the dining environment is excellent. It's perfect for a special occasion.
Embark on a culinary journey across Japan, all while being in Otemachi. Experience the changing seasons through creative French cuisine. 🇫🇷 Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Plaiga TOKYO, arriving in style by limousine. 🥂✨ Prior to my visit, I read reviews that said, "It's a wonder this isn't a Michelin-starred restaurant." And indeed, the ambiance, hospitality, and cuisine all contributed to an exceptional experience. 🍽 I was first presented with the ingredients used in the dishes, making me even more eager to see how the chef would showcase them. 🌹 As each dish arrived, I was captivated by its delicate beauty. I was particularly moved by the Yamagata rice mousse, shaped like snowflakes. ❄️ I expected rice to have a more granular texture, but this mousse was incredibly smooth and refined, with a gentle, elegant flavor. You wouldn't even know it was rice unless you were told. The presentation was exquisite, and the taste was equally top-notch. What truly surprised me were the petit fours served after the meal. I was presented with three adorable sweets, seemingly placed on a stone used for serving the dishes. But then I realized... They were actually sugar cubes! ✨ Since sugar cubes are not meant to be washed and reused, it would have been more practical for the restaurant to use stones. But they chose sugar cubes instead. Was it because the ideal color for the sugar cubes enhanced the beauty of the sweets, or was it a gesture of hospitality towards the guests? I can only speculate, but I was deeply impressed by the meticulous attention to detail and the unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect of the experience. I was also delighted to see the Himi winter yellowtail from Toyama Prefecture, featured on their Instagram, served with yogurt and dill oil poured tableside. It was a beautiful sight, reminiscent of the vibrant greenery that emerges as winter transitions into spring. Of course, the dishes prepared by Chef Shota Ikeda, who honed his skills at Michelin-starred restaurants in France, were exceptional. But the experience was truly elevated by the attentiveness and knowledge of the waitstaff, who even shared the company's philosophy. It was a truly remarkable evening. ◆ Winter Menu 2023 * Tamura's Eggs from Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture, with barley and winter truffles * Tsuyahime rice from Yamagata Prefecture, scallops from Miyagi Prefecture * Yukigesho from Tango, Kyoto Prefecture * Onions from Taniguchi Farm in Shinshinotsu Village, Hokkaido * Himi winter yellowtail from Toyama Prefecture, four types of radish, crystal mandarin oranges * Whitefish from Hokkaido, Jerusalem artichoke, yuzu * Ku-e from the Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture, wild vegetables, fuki no tou (butterbur) * Ezo deer from Tsurui Village, Kushiro, Hokkaido, hunted by Hunter Kikuchi * Amaou strawberries from Fukuoka Prefecture, Zhengshan Xiaolong tea, chocolate The name Plaiga TOKYO is derived from the French word "Plaisir" (pleasure) and the Japanese word "Miyabi" (elegance). "Plaisir" signifies enjoyment and delight, while "Miyabi" represents one of Japan's traditional aesthetic ideals, embodying grace and refinement. 🌿 Plaiga TOKYO offers a luxurious and bold combination of Japan's finest seasonal ingredients, creating a truly elegant dining experience with each dish. Thank you so much for the exceptional food and the wonderful time. 💖 I look forward to enjoying the new seasonal menu soon! (❁ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)⁾⁾⁾
A French restaurant themed around the four seasons of Japan. It's located right in front of the Wadakura Gate Ruins in Marunouchi. I was seated by the window with a distant view of the Wadakura濠, one of the moats of Edo Castle. The tables are separated by partitions, making it almost like a private room, so the atmosphere was great and I could enjoy the food and drinks without feeling self-conscious. This day, the theme was "Autumn Journey," so the course was centered around autumn vegetables. Pumpkin madeleines, hairy crab, winter yellowtail with radish and mandarin orange, saury with red eggplant, whitefish with matsutake mushrooms and gingko nuts in consommé soup,クエ, Shizuku duck with salmis sauce, Niwa chestnut Mont Blanc with roasted green tea gelato. Finally, tea and sweets. The wine pairing included sparkling, four whites, and one red. The theme was "Japanese" so the wines were relatively light-bodied with elegant aromas. The conversation flowed easily and it was a wonderful restaurant.
