Yayolog (つ∀`*) A legendary establishment in Omoide Yokocho, founded in 1947. ◼️The large pot of miso-flavored simmered offal and the fresh offal lined up next to the ice blocks are a feast for the eyes. There are many unspoken rules, and the shop has no signboard or menu. (Smoking is allowed at all seats) ◆Simmered Offal Soft and flavorful, with a distinct offal aroma, perfect for drinking. ◆Omakase (Chef's Choice) Three Skewers ♦️Liver Boiled, absolutely delicious! ♦️ハラミ (Beef Skirt Steak) Also excellent. ♦️Tongue Served with miso paste. Chewy and delicious. ◆Another skewer, I can't remember what it was. ◆Red Wine Tokachi Wine, Tokappa Red Overflowing wine!! ◼️About the Shop◼️ Cash only. ・No chopsticks. ・No entry for those who have already been drinking. ・No women allowed. ・Shochu is limited to 3 glasses. etc. The restroom is shared with Omoide Yokocho. Founded in 1947. Currently run by the third generation. (From Google Search) ◼️◼️ Visited on a weekday afternoon around 5:30 pm. Almost full, but one seat was available. I ordered the simmered offal and the omakase. The owner was taciturn but kind to first-timers. A popular shop in Omoide Yokocho (a remnant of the black market, also known as Shonben Yokocho). 2020.2

My first visit and first review! September 18, 2024. I had been wanting to try the 'Nikomi Kushi' (simmered skewers). They were cooked to a tender, melt-in-your-mouth consistency, a flavor unlike anything you'd get from grilling. The sake went down smoothly. There's no menu, but the staff are friendly and approachable. Feel free to ask them about the dishes. Thank you for the delicious meal!

This is a renowned restaurant that needs no explanation. It's one of the few places in Memory Lane that truly delivers on flavor. I think their sashimi, simmered dishes, and grilled items are all delicious. While their prices might seem a bit steep for aホルモン (hormone) restaurant, it's more likely that I'm just overeating and drinking too much. It's not a place for everyone, but it's definitely one of my favorites.

After running errands in Shinjuku, I decided to have an early drink. I went on a pub crawl in Omoide Yokocho, a place I've always wanted to visit. I ordered a bottle of beer and a selection of skewers: simmered meat, liver, small intestine, pounded meat, green pepper, marinated tongue, heart, pork belly, and cartilage. The simmered meat was flavorful, rich, and tender, absolutely delicious. I love liver, it was so good! The small intestine was also delicious. The pounded meat was chewy and tasty. The green pepper was fantastic. The marinated tongue with miso was unique and incredibly delicious. I always order the heart, it's so good. The pork belly was delicious. The cartilage was tasty. The counter was very narrow, but the atmosphere of this yakitori place was fantastic. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went there for the first time and underestimated it, thinking it was just a place with a good atmosphere. After trying the first dish, the simmered offal, I apologized in my heart! I was amazed by the tender offal with no off-putting smell. All the grilled skewers were perfectly cooked. It's not a place to linger and chat. There's no menu, and grilled items come out one after another until you say stop. It's a place to eat quickly and leave within about an hour. They even try to communicate with foreigners in broken English. If you go around 6 pm, it's likely to be full. It's better to go earlier.
