A counter-only curry shop located on the B1 floor of Marunouchi Oazo. Considering its location, the three-curry combination for under ¥1,500 is definitely a good value. The sharp keema curry with its meaty flavor and the hearty bean curry with its satisfyingly soft texture are both excellent. The shrimp curry with its tender shrimp, balanced acidity, and spice is also truly delicious. However, for some reason, they serve Japanese rice. Given the authentic Indian flavors of the curries, I would have preferred basmati rice. The space is relatively compact, so it's not ideal for lingering or enjoying a leisurely drink.
I was a little worried because the reviews weren't great, but the food was delicious. I enjoyed it even though it wasn't basmati rice, and I actually preferred it with Japanese rice. The male staff member with black-rimmed glasses was definitely blunt, and some might find his service to be rough, especially if they expect attentive service for the price. However, he was a professional who observed and responded to customers' behavior, so I didn't have a bad impression of him. I chose the fish for the three-item combo, and it was delicious.
## Fish: A Spice-Filled Delight in Marunouchi I recently stumbled upon "FISH" in the Oazo building while making my way from Tokyo Station to Otemachi via the underground passage. This popular spot, known for its "3-Spice Combo" curry, is a welcome addition to the Marunouchi area. It's the second location for this beloved curry house, following the success of its Shinjuku branch in 2018. The original "FISH" in Roppongi, a legendary curry destination, sadly closed its doors. However, the owner, a devoted fan of the restaurant, has brought the recipes and head chef to Marunouchi, ensuring the same deep, flavorful spice curry that has captivated customers for 30 years. The menu boasts eight different curries, including a daily special, and 17 toppings. The highly recommended "3-Spice Combo" starts at ¥1,200. One of the most popular dishes is the Keema Curry. Made with minced chicken thigh and simmered with 10 spices, it's a fragrant and flavorful masterpiece. The rich, deep flavor is truly remarkable, and when combined with other curries, it creates a synergistic explosion of taste. Marunouchi can be a lunch-time nightmare for those seeking a quick bite, but this fast-paced restaurant is a lifesaver. Thank you for the delicious meal!
I finally made it to this restaurant that I couldn't visit while living in Tokyo! The curry had a more subtle spice flavor than I expected. I forgot to order the free cilantro topping, which was a bummer. I finished it all, but felt a little unsatisfied. I stumbled upon something called "raw ginger lassi" and as a ginger lover, I had to try it! It was unsweetened and refreshingly delicious.
I always enjoy the food here, but today the white rice was hard and tough, making it difficult to eat. It wasn't delicious at all. I ate it though. Since the food is usually so good, I was expecting a delicious meal and was disappointed. Other customers were also talking about it, so maybe everyone who went at that time had the same experience. I wonder if they messed up the cooking. I noticed the rice was warmed up in the microwave, which was different from usual, and then I saw fresh rice being cooked during the meal, so I think it was fine after that. Rice is so important for curry, so I would have preferred to wait for the delicious rice.
