After work, I headed to a French brasserie in Otemachi, a popular spot among urban working women. ☆ This time, I had a reservation for a window seat on the 9th floor, and we started our dinner at a lovely table with a beautiful view of the neon lights of the neighboring building. ■ Main Course: [Charcoal-Grilled T-Bone Steak] Large Platter Sharing Course ¥15,000 ↑ Includes free-flowing alcohol ◯ Amuse-bouche: Chickpea Paste & Homemade Bread ◯ Caprese Platter Cheese ◯ Salad Niçoise (Nice Salad) ◯ Charcoal-Grilled T-Bone Steak (with Pomme Purée & Mushroom Sauté) ◯ Tokyo Mont Blanc ◯ Coffee or Tea or Herbal Tea Everything was served on large platters, with stylish plating and generous portions, making it very Instagrammable. The amuse-bouche was a simple yet comforting chickpea paste with homemade bread. The appetizer salad was Niçoise style, with plenty of olives and tuna, exuding a French aroma. Then, the main course, the T-bone steak, arrived! The Australian beef, slowly grilled over charcoal, had a crispy exterior and a tender, juicy interior, earning unanimous praise from everyone. It was more substantial than expected, but the four of us managed to finish it all. The pomme purée (mashed potatoes) and mushroom sauté were also perfectly cooked, making for a satisfying meal. Finally, dessert and coffee (or tea). The Mont Blanc was shaped in a way I'd never seen before, which was a bit surprising, but the crispy exterior and the smooth, sweet interior created a novel and interesting contrast. On this occasion, we were seated at a spacious table indoors on the 9th floor, but there are outdoor terrace seats on other floors, which would be ideal, especially during this time of year when the autumn breeze is blowing. There are also private rooms for larger groups, making it suitable for business dinners or important gatherings. Incidentally, they also offer lunch and afternoon tea, so it would be perfect for a daytime girls' get-together! The food, drinks, atmosphere, and location were all perfect! This is definitely going on my list of recommended restaurants in Otemachi. ☆
We had dinner at a restaurant in Tokyo Station with a beautiful night view. 🍽️ I had been here before and loved the atmosphere and food, so I decided to come back. It's a popular restaurant that has been selected as a Michelin Selected Restaurant. ◆ Course I ordered Charcoal-grilled T-bone steak course ¥15,000 It's a great place for girls' nights out, dates, family gatherings, and business dinners. It's perfect for any occasion.
THE UPPER @theuppertokyo Located on the 9th and 10th floors of Marunouchi Terrace, this restaurant offers a spacious dining experience with stunning views from its terrace seating on the 10th floor. The 9th floor provides a more intimate atmosphere with private rooms and a bar counter. Both floors were bustling with activity even on a weekday. This time, we enjoyed a large platter menu for four. The T-bone steak was truly impressive, both in its size and flavor. It was a delight to savor the tender filet and flavorful sirloin together, a unique experience that only a T-bone can offer. Absolutely irresistible. The Mont Blanc dessert was incredibly cute, resembling a beautiful asteroid. When arranged together, they evoke a sense of the cosmos. It was a truly wonderful restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal. • Course [Charcoal-Grilled T-Bone Steak Course] - Amuse-bouche - Caprese with Burrata Cheese - Salad Niçoise (French beans, olives, tuna, tomato, egg) - Baguette (refills available) - Charcoal-Grilled T-Bone Steak - Pomme purée, Mushroom Sauté - Tokyo Mont Blanc - Anniversary Plate (+¥1,500) - Coffee/Tea/Herbal Tea - Free-Flow Drinks Approximately ¥15,000 5-minute walk from Otemachi Station
The restaurant's ambiance was excellent, and the staff provided exceptional service. The prices were reasonable, and I enjoyed a very satisfying lunch. However, there was one significant disappointment. I had made a reservation in advance for the anniversary plan and had requested to pay beforehand to avoid doing so in front of my companion. I confirmed this again upon arriving early, but was told that pre-payment wasn't possible due to the varying menu prices. Up to this point, I understood. However, despite my prior communication and reiterating it upon arrival, the waiter brought the bill to the table during the table check. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic until this final, disappointing moment. I felt a lack of consideration. The cashier seemed to understand my intentions, which made the situation even more frustrating. I believe it's important for restaurants to recognize that people dine for various reasons, including special occasions like anniversaries, and to be mindful of their guests' wishes.
