Station-close Kamakura Natural Food Restaurant I stopped by Garden House Shinjuku on a weekday afternoon when I was in Shinjuku. It was around 1 pm on a weekday, but there was almost no wait and I was able to enter. The interior is spacious and has many seats, and it was almost full. It's basically all table seating, and they said the counter seats are not currently in use. The terrace seating is noteworthy, as you can enjoy your meal surrounded by greenery and the outside world. For my meal, I ordered the thick-cut pork grill from the lunch menu. After a while, my drink and food arrived. The food was delicious! The thick-cut pork, grapes, and sweet potato were a perfect combination, with the meat juices and the sweetness of each ingredient complementing each other beautifully. The ingredients are all natural, so it's a great choice for those who are health-conscious. It was a delicious meal.
I was looking for a restaurant in Shinjuku that was baby stroller-friendly for lunch with my friend who has a child, and this place came up as a recommendation, so I made a reservation and visited. 🌷 As expected, there were quite a few baby strollers inside the restaurant. They also had a kids' menu. The adults ordered the steak frites (¥2,300). It seemed a bit pricey, but when the plate arrived, I understood why. It was huge! The steak was cooked rare and was tender and delicious. I was so full! My friend had ordered a birthday plate for me! It was so cute! 🎂
A Shinjuku lunch outing one day. I had business at NEWoMan and decided to drop by on my way back. GARDEN HOUSE SHINJUKU I knew about this popular place, but I always end up going to ROSEMARY'S TOKYO instead... so this was my first time. I arrived at 12:45 on a weekday and was seated immediately without waiting. However, it was almost full. Ordering was done via QR code. I spotted my favorite hummus, but then I thought, "This place is known for its pancakes..." and I spent a while deliberating before finally deciding on the Original Buttermilk Pancakes (¥2,100 including tax). I also added a lunch salad (¥300) and an iced Earl Grey tea. The salad was a proper salad for ¥300 (my vocabulary is lacking...). The dressing was delicious, and I was grateful that it didn't have cucumbers, which I don't like. The buttermilk pancakes were more substantial than I imagined! They came with bacon, sausage, and a fried egg, and on the side, there were potatoes and carrot slaw. Savory pancakes with a sweet and salty flavor are the best, right? The saltiness of the bacon and sausage combined with the sweetness of the syrup. It's so good. The carrot slaw had cumin in it, which I really liked. With this, I think the hummus or other dishes would be delicious too. I'll try something different next time. The water glasses were small, so I asked if they had larger glasses because I needed to take medication. They brought me two larger glasses and even asked, "This is lemon water, is that okay?" The staff were incredibly considerate. There were groups of mothers with children everywhere, so it was quite lively. It might not be ideal for those who want a quiet meal.
The restaurant is directly connected to the Shinjuku Station Miraina Tower ticket gate, on the 2nd floor of the Newoman building. From there, it's a quick trip to the 4th floor. The location is absolutely perfect! I made a reservation for a weekday lunch opening, but there were a lot of customers with infants and children, and it was packed with mostly women right from the start. I'm so glad I made a reservation… The staff were all very efficient and friendly, guiding us and explaining the recommended menu items. It was a very pleasant dining experience. I also saw them speaking kindly to the children! You order by scanning a QR code. All the menu items have pictures, and you can easily order from your phone, which is great! The limited 20-portion lunch sells out quickly, so get there early. Just a heads-up, they don't offer separate checks. This restaurant is definitely going on my list of places to revisit!
We arrived at the restaurant around 4:30 PM on a Sunday and waited for about 20 minutes. We ordered a half-and-half pizza and half hummus, which could be ordered after 4 PM. The pizza with whitebait was delicious! The hummus was also well-seasoned with olive oil and salt, a nice Japanese-style twist. It was really tasty. The accompanying cilantro was also good. The pate was delicious, and the accompanying grain mustard was excellent. We should have ordered a full portion of bread instead of half. The hojicha cheesecake, which I was most looking forward to, was delicious as a cheesecake. It was a dense, moist cheesecake. I also liked the crunch of the tart crust. It came with a hojicha sauce, but it was too thin and didn't really blend with the cheesecake. My companion ordered the ice cream. The matcha was rich and delicious, but the nut chocolate wasn't as rich as I had hoped. To be positive, it was a chocolate ice cream that was perfect for summer. It was still delicious.
