I visited "Noix de beurre" in the Shinjuku Isetan department store! There were about five groups ahead of me in line, but I was able to purchase my items in about five minutes. I was planning to buy some financiers, but I discovered some Halloween-themed treats! They had a set of financiers and madeleines. They were so cute, I fell in love with them at first sight! They also had cookies and cakes. I think these would be great Halloween gifts! I bought one for a gift and one for myself. The financiers had a delicious almond flavor, and the madeleines were moist and not too sweet. They were both absolutely delicious!
This shop in the Isetan department store in Shinjuku is incredibly popular for its financiers. I tried both the financier and the madeleine, and they were undeniably delicious. They were rich, but the sweetness was subtle, making them easy to eat. Warming them up slightly to make the outside crispy makes them even better. If you're looking for a souvenir in Shinjuku Isetan, this is definitely one of the first things you should consider. Just be aware of the potential for long lines and sell-outs.
I visited "Noix de beurre Shinjuku Isetan", located on the first basement floor of Shinjuku Isetan. I had heard that their financiers were famous, and I finally got to visit. I went around 6 pm, and there was a line of about 30 people. ✔︎ Petit Sac ¥756 This cute bag contains one financier and one madeleine maman. The financier has a crispy exterior and a moist interior. The almond flavor and aroma are quite strong, and it's quite sweet. After eating the financier, the madeleine felt like a regular madeleine. ✔︎ Freshly Baked Financier (Seaweed, Cheese, Nuts) ¥411 What is this financier? There are savory financiers too! You can enjoy the flavors of seaweed and cheese, and the texture of nuts in your mouth. It's a new kind of financier with a sweet and savory taste. It seems to be a limited-time offering until October 1st. However, I don't think I would wait in line this long to eat it. I would be happy to receive it as a gift. The financier itself is a 4.0 out of 5. The madeleine is a 3.5 out of 5. Thank you for the meal!
Noix de Beurre is a French pastry brand based in Tokyo, known for its exceptional baked goods. The brand name translates to "butter nut" in French, reflecting its commitment to using high-quality butter as a key ingredient. Noix de Beurre's philosophy centers around offering simple yet exquisite baked goods, such as freshly baked financiers and butter cakes. Emerging in the 2000s, the brand gained popularity during a surge in Japanese interest in Western pastries. Their "freshly baked financiers," made on-site and available for purchase, are particularly popular, boasting a signature crispy exterior and moist interior. Despite being a Japanese establishment, Noix de Beurre offers a wide range of pastries that uphold French pastry traditions and techniques, earning praise from French pastry enthusiasts. The store's design exudes a classic and warm ambiance reminiscent of Parisian patisseries. Noix de Beurre continues to deliver traditional baked goods with a modern twist, grounded in its unwavering commitment to quality ingredients and meticulous craftsmanship.
I used to buy them at Mitsukoshi in Nihonbashi, but now they're also available at Isetan in Shinjuku. The freshly baked financiers have a crispy, fragrant exterior. The butter oozes out from the inside, creating a delightful experience. They also offer seasonal financiers, adding another layer of enjoyment. They have a shelf life of three days. As time passes on the second and third day, the flavor changes and they become more moist. Reheating them brings out a new level of deliciousness. They make great gifts or souvenirs, offering versatility in their use!
