My friend and I went for lunch on a Saturday. My friend said the restaurant is always bustling with people and there's usually a line, so we decided to get there early. We arrived five minutes before opening, but there was already a long queue. Luckily, we managed to get a table without waiting too long. I ordered the recommended beef stew set for the day, and my friend ordered the mackerel miso stew set. Rice and miso soup are refillable. The white rice was delicious, and I had seconds. It lived up to the other reviews and didn't disappoint. The beef stew was incredibly tasty. I'm looking forward to trying something different next time.
I visited this highly-rated restaurant in Karuizawa. The menu varies depending on the location, but this one seemed like a Karuizawa-style Japanese fusion dining establishment, so I decided to go in. It might be a good place to relax and have a drink. The tuna and olive 'namerou' (a Japanese dish) was delicious.
I was on a business trip and needed to grab lunch near Tokyo Station. The underground shopping street on the Yaesu side doesn't have any restaurants with spacious, quiet tables (or maybe I just didn't know where to look), so I decided to search on the Marunouchi side. The buildings directly connected to the station via underground passages on the Marunouchi side are the Kitte Building (JP Tower) towards the South Exit, Marunouchi Building and Shin-Marunouchi Building towards the Central Exit, and Oazo Building towards the North Exit. Each building has a dining floor with a variety of restaurants, including famous Japanese, Western, Chinese, and other cuisines. Today, I ended up at "Sujyu" on the 5th floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building. The interior was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. The east side offered a view of the Gyoko-dori Street, while the south side provided a glimpse of the Imperial Palace. Apparently, the restaurant has a long history, dating back to Bunsei 10 (1827) when it started as a miso warehouse in Komoro, Shinshu. Looking at the lunch menu, the a la carte options included "Obanzai" (2,420 yen), "Shinshu Bean and Leafy Vegetable Salad" (1,815 yen), "Saba (Mackerel) with Shinshu Miso Stew" (1,870 yen), "Saba Salt-Grilled" (1,870 yen), "Salmon Marinated in Miso" (2,420 yen), "Shrimp Fry Platter" (2,530 yen), "Hayashi Rice" (1,650 yen), "Vegetables and Shinshu Pork Stir-fried with Black Vinegar" (1,980 yen), "Shinshu Azumino Genki Pork Ginger-Grilled" (1,980 yen), "Special Roast Beef" (2,420 yen), "Teppan Katsu (Fried Cutlet)" (2,178 yen), and "Shinshu Wagyu Beef Marinated in Miso" (3,300 yen). I thought the prices were reasonable considering the prime location. There were two lunch course options: Course A for 2,970 yen and Course B for 4,070 yen. Both prices included tax. I arrived a little after 11 am, with enough time before my scheduled Shinkansen departure, so I opted for Course B. The course included "Appetizer Platter", "Sashimi", "Seven-Grain Mochi Deep-Fried", "Beef Sirloin Steak", "Rice and Miso Soup Set", and "Homemade Dessert and Coffee". Everything was delicious! It took about an hour and a half. (laughs) I highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try!
I made a reservation and went. The black vinegar sweet and sour pork was delicious! There are other dishes I'm interested in, so I'll definitely be back. I wanted to try both brown rice and white rice, so I asked for half of each. You can also get refills on rice.
I visited "Sujyu Dining," a Japanese restaurant located on the fifth floor of the Shinmaru Building in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Parking is available according to the Shinmaru Building's regulations. It was close to 3:00 PM and I was having trouble finding a place for lunch in the Shinmaru Building, so I decided to try this restaurant. I was very satisfied. First of all, the restaurant has a great atmosphere with plenty of natural light and a view of the outside. The interior is very spacious and comfortable. The lunch menu is extensive. I ordered the Hayashi rice set and the sweet and sour pork. Both were delicious. Rice and miso soup are refillable. I was very happy with this restaurant, especially considering I just walked in without any expectations. It truly lived up to the Shinmaru Building's reputation. I want to try other dishes on the menu in the future.
