I made a reservation for a table a while back and visited right when the evening service opened. I was looking forward to the shepherd's pie on the menu, but what came out was a baked dish with the ground meat releasing a lot of moisture (more like water than juices) and it was quite mushy and runny. I wish it had been baked more thoroughly and had a firmer texture. The fish and chips, which were supposed to be cod but were actually sea bream, were also disappointing because the accompanying malt vinegar lacked depth and punch (the sea bream itself was quite thick and tasty). Also, even though I had a reservation, a group of two young people who came in without a reservation were seated at a table for four (we were seated at a table for two on the edge of the location with a noisy group of five to six people next to us). We spent around 16,000 to 17,000 yen for two people, but despite the stylish presentation, there was nothing particularly noteworthy, and I doubt I'll be going back. (The oysters with red wine vinegar sauce that we ordered first were delicious, though.)

I visited for lunch for the first time. Everyone else was having the lamb chops for an extra charge, so I decided to do the same. The soup and salad were very delicious. The lamb chops had a strong smell, and I should have chosen a different main dish. I realized that lamb is not my thing.

I had the prix fixe course. The kiwi and beet salad featured grilled leafy greens that were fragrant and provided a hearty serving of vegetables. The grains added a nice textural and flavor accent, which I enjoyed. The lamb chops were surprisingly tender, with a unique fat texture that I haven't encountered before. It's no wonder this is a signature dish - the fat was rich and flavorful, with a distinct lamb taste that was excellent. The dessert was a satisfyingly sweet ice cream paired with a strong, bitter coffee. The overall portion size was moderate, but the satisfaction level was high. The staff was attentive, subtly observing the pace of the course, which made for a smooth dining experience. Given the location, the price point is reasonable, and you get a solid lamb chop. Lunch is only offered as a prix fixe (?), which may explain the more refined clientele. Dinner seems to offer other New Zealand dishes, so I'd like to try it sometime.

The food, wine, and staff were all top-notch, providing a truly luxurious experience. Absolutely fantastic!…The perceived price was a bit on the high side, though. For this price point in Otemachi, it's a touch expensive but still very satisfying. I'll definitely be back for special occasions. It's a rare find to have a New Zealand restaurant here.
