The food quality was decent. Personally, I think they could improve by reducing the salt content and investing more in aromatic spices. The terrace seating is open and has a great atmosphere. It's a good place for a large group to enjoy craft beer and cocktails. It's important to be able to enjoy yourself even if you don't drink alcohol.
Experience bold, flavorful burgers in the lively atmosphere of J.S. BURGERS CAFE Shinjuku. Located in the heart of the city, this bustling spot serves juicy, perfectly cooked burgers packed with fresh ingredients and customizable toppings like bacon and avocado. The classic burger, with its rich, savory patty and house-made sauce, is a must-try. Open since the early 2000s, J.S. BURGERS continues to innovate and attract fans of all ages. If you're looking for a satisfying, authentic American burger in a vibrant setting, this is the place to be.
I recently revisited this place and found that the menu, interior, and background music have all been revamped, giving it a more bar or club-like atmosphere. While burgers used to be the main focus, the menu now features appetizers, pizza, and alcohol, with burgers taking a backseat. I ordered the salmon and tartar sandwich, which wasn't on the menu before. The salmon was thick and delicious. I personally prefer the more relaxed atmosphere and background music of the old days.
**Food:** Quattro Cheese Burger **Location:** 5 minutes walk from the southeast or south exit of Shinjuku Station **Recommendation:** A burger with a juicy, thick patty and rich cheese that is simply irresistible. The seasoning is not too strong, allowing you to savor the natural flavors of the ingredients. The texture of the onions and other ingredients is also great, making it a satisfyingly large burger. This is a limited-time offering. **Price:** ¥2,200 (includes fries), drinks are extra **Queue Information:** No wait at 2 pm on Sunday. This is a popular spot, so it can get crowded during the day.
This burger joint is owned by Bakehouse, the company behind Journal Standard and other brands. It's located about a 5-minute walk from the south exit of Shinjuku Station. The interior has a stylish American vibe. The spacious terrace has seating and an open feel. The entire restaurant can probably fit around 100 people. Since the south exit of Shinjuku is relatively less crowded, even on a Sunday afternoon, we were able to get a table right away. I ordered the J.S. Burger set, their signature burger, for ¥1,480. It's priced like a premium burger, but the wrapping paper is stylish, the burger itself is large, and the fries are generous, so I was very satisfied and full. The patty is big and juicy, with a lot of volume. The rich cheddar cheese pairs well with the refreshing avocado. The garlic-tartare-like sauce is delicious. The tomato and other vegetables are thick and substantial, so you get a good amount of veggies. The fries are thin and crispy, which is great for those who like that style. Be careful though, because the oil from the fries can get on your clothes. As you'd expect from a burger joint owned by an apparel company, the interior is stylish, there's plenty of seating for large groups, and the terrace seating is a big plus. I think it's a great option for lunch or a light dinner.
