I had heard this was a branch of a popular restaurant in Kitami, so I was a little worried about how easy it would be to get in. However, even though it's in Harajuku, the food court was easy to access on a weekday afternoon. I felt the menu had different pricing than the main store. The portions were a bit smaller, but the prices were also lower. It was just a little less than I wanted, but I think it was just right to eat until I was 80% full. I ordered the Kobe beef and pork curry (1380 yen) with fried vegetables (100 yen) as a topping. The curry roux was a flavorful curry with a strong taste, thanks to the spices and dashi. The pickles and fried vegetables that came with it were a nice break and palate cleanser. I was satisfied without overeating, and it was a very well-balanced curry rice. I'd like to go to the main store when it reopens after renovations! (^^)
You can eat a curry from a Hyakumeiten (Top 100 Restaurants) at Harakado. The spicy curry comes with papadums, mashed potatoes, and pickles, all of which offer a refreshing break from the heat and a delightful textural contrast. It's in a food court, so the atmosphere isn't the best, but it's great that you can eat it casually.
You'll likely have to queue at other locations, but this one is in a food court, so I could eat quickly. The curry was delicious, with a noticeable onion flavor and sweetness. *Payment methods: Cash not accepted.*
It might just be my preference, but I found it a bit oily. Maybe it was because I added the deep-fried vegetables and karaage. The taste was delicious though! I'll order it plain next time. Thank you for the meal!
I visited because it had good reviews on Tabelog. The Kobe beef curry is highly recommended.
