Located less than a minute from Seibu Shinjuku Station, down a narrow alleyway, you'll find the restaurant. It's a branch of "Hayashida," one of Tokyo's most popular ramen shops. Other branches include "Suzuran," "Mugi-emon," and "Nihon Aburaya-to." I visited on a weekday evening around 8 pm. There was a 4-person wait, but the turnover was quick, and I was seated in about 5 minutes. You purchase your meal tickets, but be aware that they only accept cash. ◆ Ajitama Kinmedai Ramen The soup was packed with a rich, bold flavor of kinmedai (golden eye snapper) broth, yet it was also gentle. It was so delicious I couldn't help but drink it all. The thin noodles paired well with the soup. I finished the entire bowl without feeling heavy or bored. It was delicious. I always find Hayashida's branches to be reliable and consistently tasty, so I can't help but stop by whenever I'm in the area. I'll definitely come back again if I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal!
The ramen broth is simply addictive. It's light and flavorful, perfect for a post-drinking meal. This time I only ordered ramen, but if you have room in your stomach, you absolutely must try the red snapper rice tea set. I'll definitely be back.
I visited on Sunday at 8:30 PM. There was only one group ahead of me, so I was able to get in with almost no wait. This ramen shop is located in Kabukicho, slightly closer to Seibu Shinjuku. As the reviews said, the golden eye snapper broth is incredible. The aroma is refined, and the soup is rich and flavorful without being heavy. I was blown away by the attention to detail, even in the noodles. The seasoned bamboo shoots were also delicious, with a satisfying crunch. The thinly sliced pork was cooked sous vide, giving it a sweet flavor that complemented the soup perfectly. I couldn't resist ordering the golden eye snapper chazuke. The broth added to the chazuke made it surprisingly light. It was delicious, but personally, I preferred the rich flavor of the soup on its own.
Is it really possible for a golden eye snapper ramen to be this delicious?! The menu I ordered this time was... ❃Special Ramen ¥1050 (tax included) Extra noodles x1 ¥100 "Golden Eye Snapper Ramen Hosenka" is located about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, where you can enjoy high-level golden eye snapper ramen in Shinjuku! The interior is compact but has plenty of counter seats, so you can enter without waiting! Orders are made through a ticket machine at the entrance. When the ramen arrives, the hot steam rises, and my hunger reaches its peak! The first bite reveals that the noodles, soup, and toppings are all incredibly delicious! The soup is characterized by its deep flavor, with a gentle yet direct umami from the golden eye snapper broth. The noodles are thin and slurp-worthy, with a firm texture that makes you crave more. The golden eye snapper meat topping is flaky, fragrant, and incredibly delicious, reaching a level of culinary bliss. The rare char siu is also tender and perfectly cooked, making it disappear in an instant. I didn't hesitate to order extra noodles, and I was completely satisfied with the delicious meal from start to finish!
There was a line of about 4 or 5 people when I arrived, but the turnover rate was high and I was able to get in within 5 minutes. The interior was very clean, and although it was a counter, it was shaped like aコの字 (ko no ji), so there wasn't any feeling of being cramped by the walls, which was nice. When I sat down, they asked if I wanted a paper apron. ← The fabric was sturdy and felt good, which was a nice touch. I ordered the most standard ramen, and both the noodles and the soup were flavorful and delicious! I even had the rice porridge at the end, which wasn't heavy at all and I devoured it. They also had a seasonal menu that looked delicious, so I want to try that next time.
