The Crybaby Chinese Restaurant with Cold Dan Dan Noodles Lunch: 8 small dishes for 5000 yen (tax included). Tea: 1200 yen. Beer: 800 yen. Shaoxing wine: 1500 yen. 5 minutes from Shintomicho Station. Silent staff. Mostly refined clientele. No one comes to greet you when you enter. Reservations were fully booked on weekends a month ago. The sesame sauce on the saliva chicken is delicious. Almond jelly is standard. Steamed salmon from Iwate is average. The restaurant name might be good.
Visited in November 2021. A Chinese restaurant in Ginza. Located a 3-minute walk from Shintomicho Station. One of the 2024 Top 100 Chinese Restaurants. Has been awarded the Tabelog Bronze award for five consecutive years. Sister restaurants include "Ichirin Hanare," a top restaurant in Kanagawa, and "TexturA," which also holds a Bronze award. I went there on a Sunday, a little after 1 PM. I called about 30 minutes beforehand, and they said it was full but that it was around the time when tables would be turning over, so they would let me in as soon as there was space. When I arrived, they had a table ready for me. Today, I had the weekend-only lunch course (3850 yen). For drinks, I had the small Tuocha Pu'er tea (940 yen). The Pu'er tea had a wine-like aroma. It was placed on a candle to keep it warm, which was a nice touch. And they refilled it many times when it ran out! Since two people could share one pot of this Chinese tea, it was a great value. Now, the course menu was as follows: ✔︎ Mouthwatering Chicken and Shumai This is a standard dish at Ichirin. It's also available at TexturA and Ichirin Hanare. The finely chopped cilantro, sesame, and peanuts have a great flavor and texture✨. TexturA had a three-stage experience with gyoza, dan dan noodles, and soy milk soup, but this was a one-stage experience with shumai. After experiencing TexturA's impactful use, it felt a little less impressive, but the sauce for the shumai is still a perfect match. I am impressed by the versatility of this sauce. ✔︎ Steamed Grouper and Spinach Steamed grouper and spinach. I couldn't read a lot of the kanji(￣▽￣;)笑 The grouper was warm and delicious♫ It was served with a fragrant soy sauce using nam pla and fragrant green onions. This sauce also went very well(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*) ✔︎ Sichuan Chili-Fried Lamb Loin Lamb loin stir-fried with plenty of Sichuan chilies and Sichuan peppercorns. The numbing sensation was particularly strong. ✔︎ Simmered Turnip and Snow Crab Following the spicy and numbing dish, this was an incredibly gentle simmered turnip and snow crab. As I ate this, the spicy and numbing sensation in my mouth completely disappeared. The structure of this course is perfect. ✔︎ Rice Dish I could choose from several rice dishes, but this time I chose dan dan noodles. It was a very rich and authentic ramen. It was a dan dan noodle that was similar to miso ramen. ✔︎ Today's Dessert The dessert was a Shaoxing wine pudding. Two types of Shaoxing wine were used. The Shaoxing wines were "Toki Black Rice Wine" (Heimi) and "Huang Zhong Huang" (Fangzhonghuang). You could taste the Shaoxing wine, but the alcohol had been completely cooked off. A course unique to Ichirin, which arranges authentic Chinese cuisine. The lunch course, offered in a stylish space at a reasonable price, is highly satisfying. The name "Mouthwatering Chicken" supposedly comes from the fact that it makes you salivate just thinking about it. And yet, I can't quite remember the taste. All I recall is: * Lots and lots of sesame. * It looked spicy but wasn't. * The chicken was tender. * It had an authentic Chinese aroma, not a Japanese-style flavor. * The plate was huge. * It's used as dipping sauce for the Sichuan peppercorn noodles. Well, I remember quite a bit, actually. As a "Gozen" (set meal), the supporting dishes are also excellent. Mapo Tofu, giant shumai, and Sichuan peppercorn noodles – each could be the star of the show. Rice refills are free, but I didn't know that and ordered a regular portion. I wish they had mentioned it, but perhaps that's the pride of a Top 100 restaurant. I went for lunch on a weekday. There was a line when I arrived, so I could tell it was a popular place. Those in line seemed to be ordering the lunch set, so the turnover looked quick. I had a course meal reservation this time, but the inside was too lively and I couldn't relax. The food was delicious, but because of the noisy atmosphere, I didn't feel the overall cost performance was good, and I was also concerned that the restrooms were unisex. It seems like a good place to go for the lunch set.
