Charcoal-grilled yakitori donburi with egg yolk! Visited "Yakitori Samushin," directly connected to Otemachi Station. Located in the B1 floor of the Marunouchi Eiraku Building. Arrived just before opening on a Saturday, and there was no wait. I was able to enter the restaurant as soon as it opened. Ordered the Charcoal-grilled Yakitori Donburi for 1,350 yen. It came with chicken soup, special moyashi (bean sprouts), zha cai (preserved vegetable), and tarako (cod roe). It was served in about 10 minutes. The yakitori wasn't on skewers, but rather a large, sliced piece of chicken breast. The skin was crispy and juicy, and the meat was fluffy and tender, delicious. The aroma of charcoal grilling and the Niyodogawa sansho pepper added a nice accent. After eating about halfway, I broke the egg yolk and enjoyed it as a yakitori-topped TKG (egg over rice) or oyako-don (chicken and egg rice bowl). The egg yolk mellowed the flavor, making it undeniably delicious. I enjoyed it until the very end.
I chose the yakitori donburi with sauce. Although it's called yakitori, it's not the type with the meat on skewers; instead, a whole piece of chicken thigh is grilled. So, I think it's a bit different from a typical yakitori donburi. It was grilled quite strongly, with some charring, but it wasn't dry or tough. I opted for less rice and more chicken. It was relatively good value, and I got a lot of protein for lunch. Considering how many expensive and not-so-delicious places there are in the Marunouchi area, I think this is a good option for lunch.
This is an amazing restaurant, I have no complaints. They are not only particular about the food, but the hospitality of the staff is outstanding. The experience is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, and the感動 never stops. Anyone who goes there will understand. I've never encountered a restaurant like this before.
The staff are all very friendly. The yakitori is served hot, so eat it right away! The drink selection is excellent!
